[Regina, SK] — What better way to honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation than by
celebrating the remarkable contributions of Indigenous athletes to the sport of hockey?
The Western Canada Professional Hockey Scouts (WCPHS) Foundation and presented by Bouchier, is
proud to host a special gala banquet that recognizes Indigenous hockey legends—many of whom began
their careers in the Western Hockey League (WHL) before achieving excellence in professional
hockey.
Honouring Hockey Greats
Hockey Hall of Famer, Bryan Trottier headlines an all-star lineup of Indigenous players and
ambassadors, including:
• Brent Dodginghorse
• Dwight & DJ King
• Joey Tetarenko
• Jon Mirasty
• Jordin Tootoo
• Dr. Kalley Armstrong
• Richard Pilon
• Ron Delorme
• Tiger Williams
These hockey legends have not only left a lasting impact on the ice but continue to inspire and
uplift communities across Canada.
Special honouree Brent Dodginghorse was recently named the 2025 Canadian recipient of the NHL’s
Willie O’Ree Community Hero Award, recognizing his work in supporting Indigenous youth, culture, and sport.
Event Highlights
• Hot Stove Sessions – Two panel discussions with celebrity guests sharing their personal journeys,
challenges, and triumphs.
• Blanketing Ceremony – A traditional and special honouring of Bryan Trottier, recognizing his
lifelong contributions to hockey and Indigenous communities.
• Keynote Address by Chief Wilton (Willie) Littlechild – An Order of Canada recipient, former
Member of Parliament, decorated athlete, and residential school survivor, Chief Littlechild brings
a deeply personal and powerful message of reconciliation and hope.
Giving Back
Proceeds from the gala will benefit three impactful organizations serving Indigenous youth in
Saskatchewan:
• Ranch Ehrlo Society’s Outdoor Hockey League
• KidSport Saskatchewan
• Circle Project
