Art Contest for Mother Teresa Middle School Students

August 30, 2025 (For immediate release)
On September 30, 2025, the Western Canada Professional Hockey Scouts Foundation will host a special banquet, “Celebrating Indigenous Hockey Legends”, presented by Bouchier, at the Conexus Arts Centre in Regina.
Held in honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, this powerful evening will recognize and celebrate the contributions of Indigenous athletes who have made a lasting impact on the game of hockey — both on and off the ice.
Featured hot stove guest speakers include Kalley Armstrong, Ron Delorme, Brent Dodginghorse, Dwight and DJ King, Jon Mirasty, Richard Pilon, Jordin Tootoo, Bryan Trottier and Tiger Williams.
To mark this meaningful celebration, we are proud to announce a special art contest exclusively for students at Mother Teresa Middle School! The contest will run from September 1 to September 15, with the winner announced on September 19, 2025.
Entrants are encouraged to showcase their creativity and artistic talents by creating artwork that reflects the importance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Contest prizes include:
- $500.00 cash prize
- Four (4) complimentary tickets to the “Celebrating Indigenous Hockey Legends” banquet
- An exclusive opportunity to sit with a celebrity guest at the event
- Winning artwork printed on orange t-shirts, worn by event support staff
- On-stage recognition during the banquet
We can’t wait to see the incredible talent and meaningful stories our youth will share through their artwork!
“Our non-profit foundation is appreciative and indebted to the game of hockey and all that it has provided to our life’s experiences. Because of that, we feel a strong obligation and commitment to give back to charities, communities, and individuals who could benefit from our support and financial assistance.” — hockeyscoutsfoundation.com
