Glen Dirk

(July 16, 1938 — April 17, 2024)

Born in Loon Lake, Sask., he scouted for more than 40 years, most of it with a single NHL organization. . . . He cut his scouting teeth in the WHL with the Regina Pats (1983-86), Spokane Chiefs (1986-89) and Kamloops Blazers (1990-94). . . . Joined the NHL’s Washington Capitals in 1993 and moved on to the New Jersey Devils as an amateur scout in 1994. He was in his 30th season with New Jersey when he died of cancer. . . . Won two Memorial Cup titles with Kamloops (1992, 1994) and three Stanley Cups with New Jersey (1995, 2000, 2003). . . . Outside hockey, he spent 36 years with CN Rail.
