Don Paarup

(Dec. 24, 1938 —)

From High River, Alta., he enjoyed a lengthy NHL scouting career, and he spent all of it with one franchise. . . . Got his scouting start in the WHL with the Victoria Cougars (1983-85). . . . Started in the NHL when he signed with the Quebec Nordiques in July 1988. . . . He went along when the franchise moved to Denver in 1995 and became the Colorado Avalanche. . . . Retired in 2021 after 33 years with the organization. . . . Won two Stanley Cups with Colorado (1996, 2001). . . . Had worked for 38 years as an estimator with the City of Calgary before retiring after 1993. Kept working as a scout for 28 more years.
