OKOTOKS, AB (July 26, 2026) — The third annual Professional Hockey Scouts Foundation’s Wall of Honour induction dinner is going to be a real family affair.

The non-profit PHSF will induct 22 past and present-day scouts into the Wall of Honour, bringing the total number of inductees to 96.

This year’s class includes the late Laurence Ferguson and his two sons, Ron and Sheldon Ferguson, each of whom served as scouts with the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes. Also going in will be twin brothers Rich and Ron Sutter, whose brother Duane was inducted in 2025.

This also will be the third year in a row in which a member of the Ginnell family will have been inducted. This time Dan Ginnell will be honoured, after his late father Pat was inducted in 2024 and brother Erin was selected in 2025.

Other 2026 inductees are the late Garnet (Ace) Bailey, Mike Barnett, Jim Bzdel, Craig Channell, Paul Charles, Marcel Comeau, Jeff Crisp, Marshall Davidson, Thomas Gradin, Randy Hansch, Kelly Kisio, the late Jack McIlhargey, the late Dave Westby and John Williams. This year’s two major junior inductees will be Ray Dudra and the late Mark Johnston.

Over the next few weeks, a portrait and brief bio of each inductee will appear on the Foundation’s website and social media outlets.

“This will be our third induction dinner,” said Garth Malarchuk, the Foundation’s chairman of the board,  “and it promises to be the best one yet. The slate of inductees is terrific and the hot stove promises to be one for the ages. We will have on hand a number of former pro goaltenders who are great story-tellers, from former Hockey Night in Canada and NHL front-office executive John Davidson to Ed Staniowski, who followed up a great junior and pro career with a lengthy stint in the Canadian Armed Forces. ”

“And even though the first two dinners were sellouts, we have reduced the ticket prices. We now are on sound enough footing that we feel we can offer a small reward to our supporters.”

The evening will also include a special video tribute honouring the late John Garrett, who had committed to attend the event prior to his untimely passing on April 27.

Tickets, priced at $175 each or $1,300 for a table of eight, are now available through the Foundation’s website at hockeyscoutsfoundation.com.

The dinner will be held on Aug. 28 at the Viking Rentals Centre Events Hall in Okotoks, home of the BCHL’s Oilers and the permanent home of the Professional Hockey Scouts Foundation Wall of Honour.
