Born in Edmonton, he retired from the scouting game on June 12, 2023, after spending 40 years in the WHL and earning four Memorial Cup rings. . . . He got his start in 1984 as a regional scout with the Medicine Hat Tigers. Stayed with them through 1989-90, serving as head scout for seven seasons, and was part of Memorial Cup titles in 1987 and 1988. . . . Went on to the Spokane Chiefs, where he worked for 18 years (1990-2008) as head scout and then director of player personnel. While there, he was in on two more Memorial Cup championships (1991 and 2008). . . Also scouted for the Prince Albert Raiders (2008-13), Saskatoon Blades (2013-14) and Tri-City Americans (2015-23). . . . Was senior scout advisor with the Americans when he retired.
