On Aug. 28, 2026, the Professional Hockey Scouts Foundation will celebrate the induction of 21 past and present-day scouts during its third annual Wall of Honour induction banquet. The evening’s theme will be Behind the Mask as the non-profit foundation also will honour the goaltending profession. There will be a hot stove session featuring, among other former NHL goaltenders, John Davidson, John Garrett, and Ed Staniowski. The recipients of the PHSF’s three major awards — the Ace Award, the Two Glens’ Honourarium and the Bob Ridley Golden Microphone Honourarium — also will be saluted.
The Western Canada Professional Hockey Scouts Foundation (now Professional Hockey Scouts Foundation) proudly hosted its inaugural Wall of Honour induction dinner in Okotoks, Alta., on July 30, 2024, unveiling a permanent display recognizing the contributions of professional hockey scouts. The evening welcomed 420 guests and honoured 45 past and present scouts, along with Garnet (Ace) Bailey, in whose name the inaugural Ace Award was presented. The event marked a memorable beginning to the Foundation’s mission to celebrate the scouting profession and its lasting impact on the game.

The second annual Wall of Honour induction banquet was held on July 29, 2025, themed “A Night with the Sutters,” featuring the legendary Sutter brothers in two memorable Hot Stove sessions. The evening honoured 29 scouts and introduced two new honourariums alongside the Ace Award. The Two Glens’ Honourarium commemorates Glen Cochrane and Glen Dirk, while the Golden Microphone Honourarium honours legendary broadcaster Bob Ridley and recognizes outstanding contributions to hockey media and broadcasting.
Dean Malkoc and Jesse Wallin were the first recipients of the Two Glens’ Honourarium, and Dean (Scooter) Vrooman received the Golden Microphone Honourarium. Donations were made on behalf of all honourees to a charity of their choosing.
